Colour. Movement. Feeling.

Emerging Contemporary British Painter, Georgina has exhibited her work in the UK, Europe and Australia. Having recently returned from an Artist Residency on Hydra Island (June 2023), she has started to take a different and more personal approach to her work.

Previously focusing on colour theory and movement within her abstract, colour focused pieces, inspired by her use of bodily expression as a professional dancer, she is now exploring her own experience of being a woman in a hyper sexualised world.

Her new body of work explores what a woman’s body, and freedom of choice, is worth.

“Art for me is cathartic expression. What I experience when starting a painting, I can liken only to surfing. You have the skill and an idea of what you want to happen, but have no idea what the outcome will be until you’ve dropped in.

As a professional dancer, music and the feeling it gives you heavily influences my work both in colour and style, but I leave the interpretation totally up to the viewer.”
